03/07/08 Update

For the first time in forever, the weather cooperated with our concrete foreman Bill Gardner. With a small crew of Dave Bunts, Bob Beard, Paul Quick, Bill MacLaughlin, and latter, Bill Hesse, the concrete for the transfer table rails was poured and finished on 3/7/08.

Outside the gate, the city's contractors are already starting on Columbia Ave. When they got done for the day, they pitched in and leveled the parking area and moved a little dirt for us inside the compound.

Meanwhile, a number of elves have been busy making track gauges, welding jigs, tables, and parts of the engine level tracks. It seems like every time I pass by the track something new has mysteriously gotten done!

The transfer table has been the biggest hold up, since everything else measures from there.

The material for the transfer rails is on site, and the cement should be dry enough to weld the rails in place on the next regular work day.

Next up inside the building will be the engine tracks, and lots of track panels will soon be needed for the south yard.

TOOT, TOOT, Whistle, Whistle . . .We're on our way again !

P.S. While all of you have been working, I've been out playing with trains. Check out my road trip pictures on the RLS web site.

P.P.S. I won a MCC PS1 box car in the Florida Live Steamers Raffle! It's for sale or trade to anyone who can pick it up in Ocala FL !!!!!
